Roberts Story

With over 30 years of experience in film, fabrication, and immersive entertainment, Robert Wilson brings a rare blend of creativity, craftsmanship, and technical skill to Widget Cave LLC. Born and raised in Los Angeles with family roots in the movie industry, he began by designing neighborhood haunted houses and working on stage productions before studying motion picture arts at Columbia College Hollywood.  His early career led him to the legendary Stan Winston Studio, where he worked as facility manager and in-house video editor on projects such as The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Small Soldiers, Interview with the Vampire, and Terminator 2 3D: The Ride.

After relocating to the Pacific Northwest, Robert expanded into electrical and low-voltage work, specializing in custom home theaters, before returning to his true passion, creating immersive environments.  Today he’s known as a skilled set designer, woodworker, prop maker, and custom painter, with work ranging from miniatures and murals to full-scale themed sets. He’s also well versed in Adobe Creative Cloud, using Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop to craft cinematic visuals and video integrations for escape rooms and interactive experiences.

Zachs Story

Storyteller of Worlds

A lifelong storyteller, Zach has been acting since childhood and discovered his love for creative expression through theater, film-making, and digital media. With early exposure to the Adobe Creative Suite through his father, a Photoshop project manager, Zach became fluent in visual design and editing tools that now play a key role in his creative process.  He studied film at Viola University, then transitioned into professional editing and production work, where he honed his eye for pacing, performance, and visual storytelling.

Zachs journey into immersive entertainment began at Cross Roads Escape Games in Anaheim, California, where he rose from Game Master to manager and creative contributor, helping design puzzles, produce in-game video content, and 3D-print props for the acclaimed horror experience The Séance.  That project became a defining moment, revealing his passion for merging narrative and interactivity.

Since then, Zach has continued expanding his technical and creative expertise, earning an engineering certificate in Solid Works, launching a successful 3D printing business, and managing escape room operations in Portland, Oregon.  Today, as Creative Director at Widget Cave, he uses his talents as a writer, filmmaker, 3D modeler, and puzzle designer to push the boundaries of immersive storytelling, turning every project into a world worth exploring.

Zach is highly skilled in 3D modeling and printing, video production, and Adobe Creative Cloud tools including Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop, combining artistic vision with technical mastery to bring each design vividly to life.
